This piece has two parts, a photograph of my father mounted on aluminium and hinged on the right hand side. It is slightly at an angle to the wall. The second part is a circuit board battery and loudspeaker which are suspended in space in front of the photograph. The digitised sound which my father and I both make 'Oi Yoi' is stored in a memory and played back at regular intervals.

When the viewer moves towards the circuit board the sound is played back faster and when he moves away from the board it plays back slower. The playback speed is determined by the speed of the viewer.

The sound thus goes between the tragic and the comic and back again according to the viewer's movements. The sensitivity of the sensor is about 3 to 4 meters.
