This work is called 'Hammers'

Eight pin

hammers of

different sizes

are mounted on

an acrylic tube.

The hammers are

made to bounce

away from the tube and fall back onto the tube by being hit

by small solenoids. The solenoids make a clicking sound and

the hammers hitting the acrylic make a slightly different

sound almost immediately afterwards. The hammers are

 selected at random and there is a random time of between 1 and 17 seconds between hammers

 being activated. Occasionally, at random, all 8 are operated in sequence in rapid succession, which

 makes a clattering sound.
